TV sports reporter Mark Shardlow together with Borough Sporting Champion Councillor Peter Wallace were the special guests at this year’s Hinckley and Bosworth Sports and Health Alliance Awards evening at the end of November 2016.
They presented the Adult Volunteer of the Year Award to Simon Goodman, chair of Desford Football Club (DFC) for his outstanding work over the past year. DFC now run 22 teams with all the juniors at Bosworth Aademy and the seniors and ladies playing on the Peckleton Lane pitch at Sport in Desford. Simon has recently led the club to gaining Community Charter standard in 2015 and then being named as Community Charter Standard Club of the Year in 2016. Well done Simon!
